Urban Sketching Tour - Kìwekì Point

  • Kìwekì Point Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 9N4 Canada (map)

Join us for an evening of sketching at Kìwekì Point, a beautiful lookout overlooking the Kichi Zìbì (Ottawa River) and the National Capital Region. As part of this year’s Ottawa Architecture Week theme, “Currents of Bytown,” we’ll take time to explore how water, landscape, architecture, and history come together to shape our experience of the city.

With its renewed connection to the river, open landscape, and layers of cultural history, Kìwekì Point offers a unique setting to slow down, observe, and see Ottawa from a different perspective.

We’ll meet at Kìwekì Point at 5:30 p.m. After a short welcome, we’ll spread out around the site and find our own perspectives to capture through sketching.

In true Urban Sketchers spirit, all skill levels are welcome. Bring your pens, pencils, watercolours, or whatever you enjoy sketching with, and experience the city through drawing from life. At the end, we’ll regroup at Kìwekì Point for a “sketch throwdown” and share our work with one another.

Please bring your drawing supplies.

Sketches from this tour will be displayed during the OAW Vernissage Night on October 2—a chance to showcase and celebrate your work with the community!
